Preview: Beyond Wrestling – Uncharted Territory, Episode 2 (4/10/19)

Last week, Beyond Wrestling launched its premier episode of their new weekly live program Uncharted Territory on In a massive main event, former ECW World Heavyweight Champion Masato Tanaka defeated David Starr, but not without a little assistance from a returning Joey Janela, who made his triumphant return after being out six months with a severe leg injury. Last year at Beyond’s Americanrana ’18Starr and Janela competed in one of the matches of the year in the US indie scene, in a brutal barbed wire rope match. The second episode of Uncharted Territory airs live on IWTV on Wednesday night at 8pm EST.

Gangrel vs. Anthony Greene

Former WWE Superstar Gangel is still “fangin’ and bangin'” and his 31-year career continues on Wednesday night as he faces rising US indie star Anthony Greene. Greene is a party guy, who will have to get serious as he faces a dark legend of the industry. Anthony Greene has seen his stock soar in the past year, with Beyond Wrestling, Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW), Black Label Pro, Alpha-1 and his home promotion Chaotic Wrestling, where he’s a former Chaotic New England Champion. Will Greene have his Platinum Hunnies (Angel Sinclair & Ava Everett) be able to help Greene overcome the Vampire Warrior?

Wheeler YUTA vs. Solo Darling

Wheeler YUTA has become one of the top rising stars with Beyond Wrestling last year, but he’s also shone in such promotions as CHIKARA, Major League Wrestling (MLW), Game Changer Wrestling (GCW), and more. For his debut on Uncharted Territory, YUTA faces a fellow CHIKARA star in Solo Darling. Solo Darling has emerged as one of the top veterans in the US indies, acting as a trainer with CHIKARA and competing for SHIMMER, Bar Wrestling, Women’s Wrestling Revolution (WWR) and even Japan’s Sendai Girls in recent times.

Aussie Open (Mark Davis & Kyle Fletcher) vs. Sadkampf (Dominic Garrini & Kevin Ku)

One of the most dominant tag teams in the UK faces one of the fastest rising tandems in the US, as Aussie Open faces Sadkampf in tag team action. Aussie Open’s Mark Davis and Kyle Fletcher are the reigning 2x PROGRESS Tag Team Champions in England, reigning 2x ATTACK! Tag Team Champions in Wales, and reigning Westside Xtreme Wrestling (wXw) Tag Team Champions in Germany, as well as former 2x Defiant Tag Team Champions and HOPE Tag Champs. They lost their match last week on Uncharted Territory against Beyond stalwarts The Beaver Boys, so they’ll be looking for redemption against the Southern duo of Dominic Garrini and Kevin Ku. Garrini has been making waves as a singles competitor in Absolute Intense Wrestling (AIW) and EVOLVE, but since pairing with emerging Southern star Kevin Ku, the two are on a roll, as the reigning Pro Wrestling Freedoms Tag Team Champions in Indiana.

David Starr vs. Joey Janela (w/ Penelope Ford)

In a huge main event, David Starr looks for revenge against Joey Janela for his actions in last week’s main event. In singles action in Beyond Wrestling, Starr has a 2-1-1 edge – Starr beating Janela at Americanrana ’18 and at Paying Paul, while Janela beat Starr at 2017’s Heavy Lies the Crown. In their first encounter at C5 in the spring of 2016, the two wrestled to a double count out. But last September, shortly before Janela went down to injury, Janela beat Starr in the first round of the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG) Battle of Los Angeles, knocking Starr out of the tournament. There’s no love lost between these two and it should make for an emotionally charged main event for Beyond’s second episode of Uncharted Territory.
