Final 2024 NFL Mock Draft: Record-Setting Numbers On Offense

The final NFL mock draft before the real event has a record number of offensive players going off the board in the first round.
NFL Mock Draft

The 2024 NFL Draft class is loaded with talent on the offensive side of the ball, and this mock reflects that. With the passing game making a larger and larger impact on the game, teams across the league are starting to prioritize the offensive side of the ball. As of this posting, a single NFL Draft has never produced more than 19 offensive first-round picks. This mock shatters that record, with a staggering 22 offensive players going off the board in the first 32 picks.

Note that this NFL mock draft does not include trades.

Record Number of Offensive Players Selected In Final NFL Mock Draft

1. Chicago Bears – Caleb Williams, QB

If any NFL mock draft has anyone other than Caleb Williams going first overall, you can discard the whole thing. This is the most obvious pick since the Jacksonville Jaguars took Trevor Lawrence in 2021.

Caleb Williams NFL Draft Profile

2. Washington Commanders – Drake Maye, QB

In previous iterations, I had Jayden Daniels going off the board with the second pick in the NFL mock draft. This isn’t because he’s a better prospect than Drake Maye, but rather because Washington clearly favored him over the UNC product. However, following what appears to be a player meeting gone awry, Maye is back in the picture. While he is a little rough around the edges, he has a considerably higher ceiling and should be a welcome addition to this franchise.

Drake Maye NFL Draft Profile

3. New England Patriots – Jayden Daniels, QB

The Patriots are going to take whichever quarterback Washington passes on. In this case, that quarterback is LSU’s Jayden Daniels. Daniels led one of the most explosive offenses in college football last year and has the physical talent to make it at the next level, but how much of his production was him, and how much was his insane supporting cast?

Jayden Daniels NFL Draft Profile

4. Arizona Cardinals – Marvin Harrison Jr., WR

Talent and need perfectly align, as the Arizona Cardinals select one of the best wide receiver prospects in recent memory. With a clear need on the depth chart, Arizona suddenly has a solid quarterback to pair with a great receiver and one of the most promising young tight ends in football. If everything clicks, this offense could surprise in 2024.

Marvin Harrison Jr NFL Draft Profile

5. Los Angeles Chargers – Malik Nabers, WR

Jim Harbaugh wants an offensive tackle, but he’d be a fool to pass on an elite wide receiver prospect like Malik Nabers. Somebody must catch the football with Keenan Allen and Mike Williams gone, and the LSU product should add a much-needed explosive element to this offense.

Malik Nabers NFL Draft Profile

6. New York Giants – J.J. McCarthy, QB

The Giants can deny buyer’s remorse with Daniel Jones, but one good season in five years can only take you so far. J.J. McCarthy never operated a pass-heavy attack, so nobody knows if he can succeed as a true franchise quarterback. However, his arm is up for the job and everyone praises him for his off-field leadership.

J.J. McCarthy NFL Draft Profile

7. Tennessee Titans – Joe Alt, OT

The Titans are doing everything they can to give Will Levis a real shot in 2024. After upgrading the interior offensive line and wide receiver positions in free agency, they complete the offensive rebuild with the best tackle in the class. Joe Alt is a truly immovable object in pass protection who should help transform this offensive line from the worst in football to a reliable unit.

Joe Alt NFL Draft Profile

8. Atlanta Falcons – Dallas Turner, EDGE

A defensive player finally comes off the board with the eighth pick in this NFL mock draft. The Falcons have the offensive pieces to go on a deep playoff run, but now they need to fix the defense. Dallas Turner can add some much-needed life to this pass rush and help giude the Falcons to the NFC South crown.

Dallas Turner NFL Draft Profile

9. Chicago Bears – Rome Odunze, WR

Seeing as the NFL mock draft doesn’t have trades, the Chicago Bears sit tight and take another fantastic wide receiver. Rome Odunze is an unmatched route runner with the build to match up against any type of cornerback. Maybe he doesn’t have the same blazing speed as guys like Nabers and Harrison, but he’ll immediately make a name for himself at the NFL level.

Rome Odunze NFL Draft Profile

10. New York Jets – Brock Bowers, TE

Tight ends have the lowest hit rate of any position in the NFL. While the nature of his position makes him something of a question mark, everything about Brock Bowers’ college tape implies he’ll hit the ground running in the NFL. Aaron Rodgers doesn’t have much time left, so New York should do everything in their power to support their four-time MVP while he’s still on the field.

Brock Bowers NFL Draft Profile

11. Minnesota Vikings – Quinyon Mitchell, CB

Seeing as the Vikings aren’t allowed to trade up for a quarterback in this NFL mock draft, they stay put at 11 and rebuild their secondary. Cornerback is probably the most important position in a Brian Flores defense, and Mitchell has the potential to be a lockdown player on this side of the field.

Quinyon Mitchell NFL Draft Profile

12. Denver Broncos – Terrion Arnold, CB

Bo Nix is not good enough to justify a top-12 selection, so the Denver Broncos secure their secondary and hope their preferred prospect makes it into the second round. Denver is entering a long rebuild but should love the idea of pairing superstar Patrick Surtain with a great prospect in Terrion Arnold.

Terrion Arnold NFL Draft Profile

13. Las Vegas Raiders – Olu Fashanu, OT

With no worthy quarterback on the board, Vegas will run it back with Aidan O’Connell and hope that some improved blocking can bring out the best in the second-year passer. Olu Fashanu should immediately start for this team and improve an offensive line that struggled to open run lanes last year.

Olu Fashanu NFL Draft Profile

14. New Orleans Saints – Taliese Fuaga, OT

New Orleans desperately needs tackle help, and they land a great one in this NFL mock draft. Taliese Fuaga is a ferocious player who should fit right in with Dennis Allen’s preferred style of play. With Trevor Penning showing nothing and Andrus Peat still a free agent, the offensive tackle should start from Day 1.

Taliese Fuaga NFL Draft Profile

15. Indianapolis Colts – Cooper DeJean, CB

The Colts couldn’t seal the deal in L’Jarius Sneed trade talks, so they use their first-round pick in this mock draft to land one of the most physically gifted cornerbacks in this class. DeJean put all injury worries behind him during his phenomenal Pro Day and should hit the ground running as a pro.

Cooper DeJean NFL Draft Profile

16. Seattle Seahawks – Troy Fautanu, OT

Geno Smith is not an elite quarterback, but he’s the type of guy you can live with. Seeing as there’s no clear upgrade available, Seattle decides to improve his surroundings in this mock draft. Troy Fautanu should compete to start from Day 1, and the Washington product should be familiar with the offense, seeing as he’s reuniting with offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb.

Troy Fautanu NFL Draft Profile

17. Jacksonville Jaguars – Laiatu Latu, EDGE

Josh Allen had 17.5 sacks last year, and Jacksonville still found a way to end the year with the fewest sacks in football. This team desperately needs to find another edge rusher, and Laiatu Latu is the perfect fit. The edge defender is fundamentally sound and should be a plug-and-play defender. With Allen locked up long-term and Arik Armstead in town, Jacksonville could have one of the better pass rushes in the game.

Laiatu Latu NFL Draft Profile

18. Cincinnati Bengals – Byron Murphy, DT

This isn’t the most creative pick, as just about every NFL mock draft has Byron Murphy going to the Cincinnati Bengals. However, sometimes the obvious picks are obvious for a reason. The Bengals need a defensive tackle, and Murphy is the best one in the class.

Byron Murphy NFL Draft Profile

19. Los Angeles Rams – JC Latham, OT

There is no such thing as too many reliable offensive linemen. This is especially true when your quarterback is 36 years old and has a history of back injuries. Los Angeles has a strong wide receiver duo in Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua, and JC Latham can keep pass rushers at bay while those two get open downfield.

JC Latham NFL Draft Profile

20. Pittsburgh Steelers – Amarius Mims, OT

Russell Wilson will have the first shot at the starting quarterback, but he and Justin Fields will both fail without an improved offensive line. Amarius Mims is the best tackle left on the board, and while they could trade this pick for Brandon Aiyuk, they should be happy with this outcome as well.

Amarius Mims NFL Draft Profile

21. Miami Dolphins – Jared Verse, EDGE

The Miami Dolphins lost several key players in free agency, and their remaining edge defenders aren’t getting any younger. Jared Verse is good enough to lead a pass rush all on his own, but combining him with Bradley Chubb could be lethal once the two-time Pro Bowler gets back up to speed.

Jared Verse NFL Draft Profile

22. Philadelphia Eagles – Nate Wiggins, CB

The Eagles have A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith locked up on long-term deals, so they go after a cornerback in this NFL mock draft. Nate Wiggins is a natural ballhawk with smooth hips to track receivers across the field.

Nate Wiggins NFL Draft Profile

23. Minnesota Vikings – Michael Penix, QB

The Vikings finally land their quarterback with the 23rd pick in this NFL mock draft. Michael Penix is a work in progress with accuracy issues, but he excels at the tough parts of the job. In theory, the right coaching staff should be able to fix his short-field issues and mold him into a starting-caliber quarterback – assuming he can stay healthy.

Michael Penix NFL Draft Profile

24. Dallas Cowboys – Brian Thomas, WR

The Cowboys get a steal in the back half of the first round. While he played second fiddle to Malik Nabers, Brian Thomas has the physical gifts to excel as the top option in any NFL offense. Fortunately for him, he can remain the second option, as Dallas already has a superstar in CeeDee Lamb.

Brian Thomas NFL Draft Profile

25. Green Bay Packers – Graham Barton, OT

David Bakhtiari has officially left the building, which means this team needs to find a new left tackle. Graham Barton is a bit of a risk, as some analysts believe he should be a guard at the next level. While he might need to transition inside, his college film is impressive enough for Green Bay to give him a shot at tackle. Even in a worst-case scenario, the Packers will have a franchise cornerstone guard.

Graham Barton NFL Draft Profile

26. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Chop Robinson, EDGE

Todd Bowles prioritizes getting after the quarterback, and now he lands a pass rusher capable of blowing up the play on every given down. Paired with fellow youngsters Calijah Kancey and Yaya Diaby, Tampa Bay could have a ferocious defensive line for years to come.

Chop Robinson NFL Draft Profile

27. Arizona Cardinals – Jackson Powers-Johnson, C

Hjalte Froholdt isn’t an active liability at center, but he’s not nearly as good as Jackson Powers-Johnson. While the relative unimportance of the position caused him to fall to the back of the first round, few players are more pro-ready than the Oregon product. Don’t be surprised if he makes the Pro Bowl as a rookie.

Jackson Powers-Johnson NFL Draft Profile

28. Buffalo Bills – Adonai Mitchell, WR

Every year, the film and analytics communities go to war over one player. This year, that player is Adonai Mitchell. While his production profile leaves something to be desired, you cannot ignore the upside. Buffalo shoots for the moon in this NFL mock draft and selects a player who has the physical tools to be as good as any receiver in this class.

Adonai Mitchell NFL Draft Profile

29. Detroit Loins – Kool-Aid McKinstry, CB

The Detroit Lions have the offense to win the Super Bowl, now they need to figure out the defense. Trading for Carlton Davis was a good first step, but adding Kool-Aid McKinstry could be the missing piece to this championship-caliber puzzle.

Kool-Aid McKinstry NFL Draft Profile

30. Baltimore Ravens – Tyler Guyton, OT

The Ravens lost three starters on the offensive line during free agency, and Tyler Guyton can help replace that departed talent. Assuming his medicals check out, he should be able to play from Week 1 and help fend off the elite AFC North pass rushers.

Tyler Guyton NFL Draft Profile

31. San Francisco 49ers – Darius Robinson, EDGE

Darius Robinson is not the safest prospect in the NFL Draft, but he has the physical tools to be elite. Seeing as the 49ers currently have one of the most ferocious defenses in football, they can afford to take their time and develop Darius Robinson into one of the game’s next great pass rushers.

Darius Robinson NFL Draft Profile

32. Kansas City Chiefs – Xavier Worthy, WR

The Chiefs wrap up this NFL mock draft with the fastest player in the history of the NFL Combine. Xavier Worthy runs fast in a straight line, but he’s so much more than just a one-trick pony. While he is undersized for the position, his ability to stretch the field and use that speed to set up a solid route tree makes him a wise selection with the 32nd-overall pick.
