Arsenal Sign Versatile Attacker to Wear Number 17 Shirt

The 2025/26 season was memorable for all connected with Arsenal, as the club ended a 22-year wait, winning the Premier League. They were consistent throughout, showed plenty of class, and deservedly won the title. Ahead of the new season, a vital player from last season, Leandro Trossard, has left the Emirates, moving to Besiktas for £17m. Arsenal have now announced his replacement, with Christos Tzolis joining the club in a £34m deal from Club Brugge.

Arsenal Prepare to Defend Premier League Crown

The Gunners Unveil Christos Tzolis Signing

Arsenal will be looking to defend their Premier League title and go back-to-back in the 2026/27 season. Trossard’s departure was a strange one given his form last season, but Tzolis’ signing is an interesting one. Still only 24, he shone in Belgium, making 108 appearances in all competitions for Club Brugge, scoring 43 goals and assisting 45 times.

The Greek attacker impressed in his home country before moving to Norwich City, impressing straight away, scoring twice and providing two assists on his debut in a 6-0 Carabao Cup win against Bournemouth. Loan spells at FC Twente and Fortuna Dusseldorf followed as the youngster looked to improve.

Since joining Brugge in July 2024, Tzolis quickly became influential in the left-wing role. He helped the club win league and cup honours during his two years there, including the league title in the 2025/26 season. Tzolis has also made 34 appearances for his country.

Andrea Berta Reflects on Tzolis Signing

Sporting Director Andrea Berta has spoken on the signing and said: “We’re delighted to have completed the signing of Christos Tzolis.

“Christos is an extremely versatile attacking player who naturally operates on the left but is comfortable across the front line. He’s an excellent finisher with both feet, thrives in tight spaces, and possesses incredible technical ability.

“Christos has produced outstanding numbers in terms of goals and assists over the last three seasons, and he’s a player who will raise the technical level of our squad, while bringing positive energy, enthusiasm, and a strong mentality to our team.

“We’re confident Christos will make a significant contribution to our club, and we hope our supporters will enjoy watching him play in an Arsenal shirt.

“We look forward to sharing this exciting new chapter together.”
