Arsenal Accelerate Pursuit of International Winger and It’s not Tzolis

Arsenal’s 2025/26 season was full of highs and lows, and despite losing the Champions League final on penalties, Mikel Arteta’s team won the club’s first Premier League trophy in 22 years. Ahead of their title defence, Leandro Trossard has joined Besiktas, while Christos Tzolis looks set to join the club. However, Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Arsenal’s “top target,” Morgan Rogers, has moved one step closer to joining the North London club, with the Gunners accelerating their pursuit of the England international.

Arsenal Make Moves Ahead of 2026/27 Season

The Gunners Accelerate Move for Morgan Rogers

Arsenal will be aiming to successfully defend their Premier League crown, while looking to go one step further in Europe this time.

Trossard’s departure and the impending arrival of Tzolis show Arteta’s desire to improve his squad and push them on to new levels. Despite the moves made and those impending, Romano reports that Rogers is the “top target” for Arteta. Talks on the player side are already advanced, and this deal has no bearing on the Tzolis deal.

What Morgan Rogers Bring to the Emirates

Morgan Rogers will bring dynamism to Mikel Arteta’s attack. He can operate centrally or outwide. His ball-carrying ability is one of his best assets. He has shown an impressive ability to find pockets of space in between the lines to deliver that defence-splitting pass or that game-changing shot, which we saw on countless occasions for Villa last season.

He’s adept at shielding the ball and very difficult to dispossess. His ability to impact a game at the highest level was shown when he found a pocket of space for England in the World Cup quarter-final before having the shot, which ultimately ended with Jude Bellingham scoring the desired goal. Whether as a second striker or as a more traditional winger, Rogers will bring even more quality to this talented Gunners side.
