Oxford United Welcome Charlton

Team News, Form and Predicted Line-Up

The last time Oxford won four successive league games was in League One, with victories over Exeter, Stevenage, Shrewsbury, and Bristol Rovers between September and October 2024. Liam Manning had also picked up four successive wins in August.

Meanwhile, Charlton picked up an impressive win at Middlesbrough last time out to all-but secure their second-tier status for another campaign. Nathan Jones’ side have won their last two games, keeping clean sheets in both, and have lost just twice in nine. The Addicks are also unbeaten in their last four away games.

Will Lankshear, who has eight league goals, drew a blank against Blackburn but his Spurs loanee teammate Jamie Donley opened his account with the only goal of the game.

Sonny Carey also has eight league goals but hasn’t found the net in four. Striker Charlie Kelman has five and scored the winner in the recent win over Birmingham.

Tyler Goodrham and Brian De Keersmaecker remain sidelined but Przemyslaw Placheta could return. Matt Bloomfield said after the game against Rovers that a couple of players are carrying knocks.

Reece Burke, Luke Berry, Matt Godden, Harvey Knibbs and Josh Edwards are all missing through injury for the visitors.

Charlton won the reverse fixture at the Valley which was Gary Rowett’s final game in charge of the U’s before he was dismissed. However, Oxford were unbeaten in the previous seven meetings, winning five. The U’s have won the last three meetings at Grenoble Road and are unbeaten in their last seven at home.

Matt Bloomfield has faced the Addicks five times as a manager, winning two, drawing one and losing the other two. However, both victories did come as the home side. Against Nathan Jones, both managers have one win a piece.
