‘Couple of Knocks’: Latest Oxford United Team and Injury News for Clash With Charlton

Oxford United have “a couple of knocks” ahead of another important game against Charlton on Saturday.

The Addicks also have some key players missing but it hasn’t affected their form with successive league wins under their belt.

Tyler Goodrham – Ankle

Academy graduate, Tyler Goodrham has been ruled out for the rest of the season following surgery on his ankle.

Brian De Keersmaecker– Shoulder

Brian De Keersmaecker will also miss the rest of the season after undergoing an operation on his shoulder injury.

Unknown Absentees

Speaking after the win over Blackburn, head coach Matt Bloomfield confirmed there could be a couple of doubts for the Charlton game.

He said: “There are a couple of knocks. One of the lads is carrying something that’s a big doubt for the weekend so there might be one enforced change. But it’s so soon after the game that it’s hard to know so soon where the lads are at.”

Oxford’s Returning Players

Przemyslaw Placheta – Calf

Another potential returnee could be winger, Przemyslaw Placheta. The Pole has been out with a calf problem.

Charlton Injury News

Reece Burke – Muscle

Defender Reece Burke was forced off after just 13 minutes during Charlton’s meeting with Wrexham last month.

Luke Berry – Muscle

Midfielder Luke Berry was also replaced against the Welsh club.

Matty Godden – Hamstring

Striker Matty Godden only made his first appearance of the season in January but has suffered another injury setback which keeps him sidelined.

Harvey Knibbs – Ankle

Former Reading man Harvey Knibbs remains sidelined with an ankle injury he picked up during Charlton’s win over Sheffield United in January.

Josh Edwards – Ankle

Defender Josh Edwards injured his ankle during the Addicks’ 3-0 win over Blackburn Rovers in September and will miss the rest of the campaign.
