Leicester vs Queens Park Rangers Confirmed Lineups

Leicester Predicted Lineup Vs Coventry City for September 20

Following a busy deadline day and the first of many international breaks, Leicester City returned to action at the Kassam Stadium. Two of the new signings featured, as a 10-man City side was able to grind out a valuable point. With Marti Cifuentes’ side taking 10 points from a possible 15, a clash against fierce rivals Coventry City poses their biggest test yet. Therefore, here is the Leicester Predicted Lineup as they play host to Frank Lampard’s side.

How Leicester City Have Lined Up Recently

Last time out in Oxfords, Cifuentes once again made changes to his system. Jakub Stolarczyk remained in between the sticks against the U’s, but yet another mistake leaves questions over his quality at this level. Jannik Vestergaard and Caleb Okoli have proved to be mainstays within the side this season as they once again started together. Furthermore, academy graduates Hamza Choudhury and Luke Thomas rounded off an unchanged backline.

Boubakary Soumaré, alongside Oliver Skipp, remain the preferred double pivot, although Harry Winks did replace the Frenchman at half-time. With Bilal El Khannouss now out of the picture, it was new loanee Aaron Ramsey who looked to fill the void left by the Moroccan.

The deadly partnership of Abdul Fatawu and Stephy Mavididi was also among the names to keep their place in the starting eleven against Birmingham City. Whilst both have had their own highs and lows this season, a Fatawu assist proved crucial in securing the point. Meanwhile, Jordan Ayew remained up top as fresh arrival Julian Carranza missed out.

Leicester City’s Recent Form And Tactics

Upon arrival at the Kassam Stadium, three points as always will have been the aim, especially after the Foxes dismantled a strong Birmingham side a few weeks prior. Although they had to settle for a point, many positives can be taken from the performance.

Firstly, new signings Ramsey and Jordan James were able to make their Leicester debut. Whilst Ramsey didn’t get off to the perfect start as the red mist descended within the first 24 minutes, James did leave a lasting impact. Despite only managing 12 minutes, he was able to assert himself and even made a crucial tackle towards the end of the game.

A further positive was the work rate and desire shown when down to 10 men. With the game levelled up, it was the home side who capitalised on the advantage, but at half-time, Cifuentes once again made the difference. Bringing on technical players like Ricardo Pereira and Winks was pivotal, especially when looking to take control of the game. This is further exemplified by Leicester having more possession in the second half, despite being dealt with incredibly difficult circumstances.

Pereira and Winks will be crucial in games like this, where City need to dominate possession and restrict chances on goal. The best example of their quality is the eventual equaliser, as it is a scintillating one-touch passing move.

Leicester City Injuries to Consider

As revealed by the Spaniard, there are no fresh injury concerns. Another positive from the past week was Bobby Decordova Reid coming off the bench for the first time all season after suffering an injury over the summer. Harry Souttar and Victor Kristiansen are now the only two players yet to feature all season due to lengthy injuries. As a result, it’s close to a full-strength Foxes’ side to take on the Sky Blues.
