‘The Potential Is Amazing’ – Chelsea Striker Set for Premier League Move

Following their strong end to the 2024/25 season and their success in the Club World Cup, Chelsea continue to reshape their squad ahead of the new campaign. Fabrice Hawkins is now reporting that Armando Broja is set to depart Stamford Bridge to join fellow Premier League side Burnley. Broja will be moving to Turf Moor on a long-term contract.

Armando Broja Set to Join Burnley

Life at Stamford Bridge feels good again, and the club are not resting on their laurels and continue to reshape the squad ahead of the new season. Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, Joao Pedro, Liam Delap, Estevao and Dario Essugo have all joined. Jorrel Hato and Xavi Simons will seemingly join Chelsea soon.

Joao Felix and Noni Madueke are two high-profile players who have departed Enzo Maresca’s team this summer. It appears one more player set to leave is Albanian international striker Armando Broja. The 23-year-old has suffered in recent years with injuries and unproductive loan spells.

Broja has definitely suffered in recent years, with knee and ankle injuries sidelining him, while a cruciate ligament tear sustained in 2022 kept him out for 275 days.

Qualities of Armando Broja

If the deal goes through, it remains to be seen if Broja can score the goals to help Burnley survive. Ex-Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino spoke fondly of Broja when he was in charge at Stamford Bridge: “The potential is amazing. We’re talking about one of the young strikers in England and in Europe with most potential. But the problem now is he needs to push himself, and we’re going to try to help him to realise that never it is enough.

“He was nearly one year away (injured) and of course now he needs time. It’s not easy for him to perform and to be at the level we expect. Our expectation is massive and we really believe in him. We’re going to push him to improve every day,” said Pochettino.

It appears Maresca wants to move in a different direction, and with Pedro and Delap joining this summer, it has seemingly left Broja surplus to requirements.

Whether Broja finds consistency at Turf Moor remains to be seen, but the move could be just what he needs to reignite his once-promising career.
