After an underwhelming transfer window in which Brendan Rodgers admitted Celtic could’ve done better, they return to league action, welcoming Dundee. This of course, is a rescheduled game after storm Eowyn prevented the tie from taking place just over a week ago. Two victories later, how will they tackle this challenge? We answer just that, with our Celtic predicted lineup.
Celtic Predicted Lineup vs Dundee
How Celtic Have Lined Up Recently
Anthony Ralston got his fourth league start at the weekend during a three-nil away win over Motherwell. While he failed to create space for Nicolas Kuhn the way Alistair Johnson does with his overlapping runs, he was heavily involved. His all-round performance was scrappy at times although you can’t deny the quality of his delivery for Daizen Maeda’s opening goal.
Cameron Carter-Vickers and Auston Trusty started together in an uncharacteristically slack domestic showing. Despite little creativity from the home side, they scored in the twenty-third minute. The American pair won’t want to watch this one back as Carter-Vickers was bullied easily in the air, meanwhile Trusty showed a lack of awareness to let the ball bounce off him and straight into the path of Armstrong.

Greg Taylor was the best of all four, with typical accuracy on the ball, and little defensive mistakes on show.
In midfield, Reo Hatate excelled, continually opening up space with his incisive touches and passing. On the other hand, Luke McCowan failed to influence whilst Callum McGregor’s passing wasn’t up to standard in the opening half.

Kuhn, Adam Idah and Maeda could have all got on the scoresheet, was it not for the German’s overhead attempt being ruled out for offside. It was another excellent performance from Maeda, who provided three goal contributions.
Celtic Recent Form and Tactics
As mentioned, the Bhoys were comfortable winners at the weekend. It means that a win on Wednesday night will put them 13 points clear at the summit.

On a better surface, they will likely bring an improved performance, against a side who notoriously leaks goals. After all, Fir Park was bobbly which hampered Celtic’s passing game. Even though at times Celtic failed to play through the central areas with speed, all things considered it was a solid performance. It really could have been more than three.
The story at the end of course was Jota returning with a goal, it will be interesting to see how quickly the 25-year-old gets back up to speed.
