Chelsea Predicted Lineup vs Brighton in EFL Clash
Watch: Why the Chelsea project is broken
How Chelsea Have Lined Up Recently
The starting eleven has been relatively settled with the injury bug slowing down to a degree. Robert Sanchez has been the go-to in goals with a back line of Malo Gusto, Axel Disasi, Thiago Silva, and Levi Colwill shielding him.

The defensive midfield pairing has been Conor Gallagher and Moises Caicedo with Enzo Fernandez moved forward to the central attacking midfield spot. Flanking the Argentine is Raheem Sterling and Mykhailo Mudryk with Nicolas Jackson leading the line.
Chelsea Recent Form and Tactics
Despite the poor form, Mauricio Pochettino has stuck resiliently to a 4-2-3-1 lineup. With no goals in their last three and only one win from six in the Premier League, there are questions to be raised about the reliance on this tactical setup.
The idea behind this formation is that the double pivot can protect the defence while one of the fullbacks joins the attack to overwhelm the opposition. While that has happened, it has yet to produce many goals with most attacks going down the right-hand side before fizzling out with a poor final ball.
Chelsea Injuries to Consider
The latest updates have eight different players on the sidelines for the Blues. Wesley Fofana remains sidelined for the long-term alongside Romeo Lavia, Christopher Nkunku, Marcus Bettinelli, Reece James, and Trevoh Chalobah. Carney Chukwuemeka and Benoit Badiashile appear to be closer to their respective returns but aren’t ready for this tie.
While not injured, Gusto is suspended due to a red card. Jackson is also suspended for accumulating too many yellows, but it appears that will only impact this weekend’s clash with Fulham.
Chelsea Predicted Lineup vs Brighton
With their poor league form in mind, it is unlikely Pochettino makes wholesale changes to his squad. We should, however, see the “incredibly athletic” Djordje Petrovic make his debut to show off what he can do:
GK – Djordje Petrovic
LB – Ben Chilwell
CB – Levi Colwill
CB – Thiago Silva
RB – Axel Disasi
DM – Lesley Ugochukwu
DM – Moises Caicedo
AM – Cole Palmer
AM – Noni Madueke
AM – Mykhailo Mudryk
ST – Nicolas Jackson
