Fenerbahce Have a Deal in Place With Manchester United

Fenerbahçe have reportedly sealed the signing of the Brazilian international after fighting off interest from several clubs including their domestic rivals Galatasaray. The Turkish side submitted an official bid of close to £13 million, including add-ons, for the 30-year-old which has seemingly been accepted by United. The medical tests have been booked and the player will travel to Turkey, ready to leave England after five seasons in the Premier League.

The 30-year-old will join last season’s Turkish Super Lig runner-up. The club has been looking to bolster its midfield, and the former Shakhtar man’s signing would undoubtedly be a significant coup for them.

Manchester United’s Transfer Market Activity

The Red Devils have been fairly active in the transfer market so far having recently captured highly rated youngster Rasmus Hojlund, they have also signed Andre Onana and Mason Mount in this window.

The Old Trafford outfit are not done with their transfer business as they are heavily linked with multiple players. Sofyan Amrabat remains a top target, potentially taking Fred’s place in the middle of the park. Benjamin Pavard of Bayern Munich and Jean-Claire Todibo of French club Nice are closely monitored as other potential signings. On the topic of outgoings, Romano notes that talks are scheduled for West Ham’s interest in Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay while Donny van de Beek is going on loan to Spain.

Fred’s Time at Manchester United

The left-footed midfielder joined the Premier League giants in the summer of 2018 from Shakhtar Donetsk for a massive transfer fee of £52 million. It is fair to say that in his five-season stay in England, he failed to justify his price tag, having not been able to replicate the same form he showed at the Ukrainian side. He has made 214 appearances, scoring 14 goals and assisting 19 times for the English team.

Despite him not being able to write his name in the history books of United, the midfielder worked tirelessly every time he stepped onto the pitch in the red jersey, this led to some outlets labelling him a “Midfield Machine
