Fabrizio Romano: Chelsea and Bayern Munich Reportedly Interested in ‘World-Class’ 270-Goal Striker

Harry Kane

Fabrizio Romano has issued a report on Harry Kane and the “world-class” striker’s future at Tottenham Hotspur via CaughtOffside.

Romano’s report goes in-depth on interest from Chelsea, which would involve a swap deal, and Bayern Munich, who are aiming to replace Robert Lewandowski. The 29-year-old England international has gained suitors thanks to his incredible goal-scoring ability in the Premier League.

Chelsea and Bayern Munich Weighing up Harry Kane Move

Chelsea

With new signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang not hitting the ground running and Armando Broja still unproven, The Blues are in desperate need of goals. Graham Potter’s new side have the added benefit of Romelu Lukaku as a counterweight in any deal once his loan at Inter Milan concludes. Spurs manager Antonio Conte and the Belgian have had success working together in the past which could make a swap deal involving the two strikers somewhat intriguing to the North London club.

Lukaku himself will play a part as he may be eager to remain in Italy with Inter Milan rather than return to the English league.

Bayern Munich

Robert Lewandowski’s move to Barcelona this past summer has left a gap up front for the German giants. His output of 344 goals in 375 appearances may be impossible to replace but Kane’s 270 strikes in 460 games are as close as they will likely get to replacing such a prolific presence.

Romano specifies in his report that as yet there have not been any conversations between the parties, merely that Der FCB are big fans of the forward.

Ultimately, neither story holds much weight, with Romano almost disregarding both as mere rumours. However, there is something brewing as several top clubs circle Tottenham Hotspur’s prolific forward ahead of the Qatar World Cup. A move for the three-time Golden Boot winner could be on the horizon in 2023.
