Championship side Birmingham City are in advanced talks to sign Manchester United forward Tahith Chong, Fabrizio Romano reports.
Chong spent much of last season on loan with the Blues, however, missed a large portion of it due to injury. It would be no surprise if there was a feeling of unfinished business at St. Andrew’s and he could be set for a return.
Romano even reports that the deal could be a permanent one.

Chong and His Time at Birmingham
During his time on loan at Birmingham, Chong was popular with supporters and notably then-manager Lee Bowyer.
Bowyer always spoke well of the Dutchman and is quoted by the Birmingham Mail as saying he’s ‘a young lad with a big future’.
John Eustace is now head coach at Birmingham after the club parted ways with Bowyer.
Chong, 22 joined Manchester United from the youth setup at Feyenoord in 2019. He has made 16 appearances for the Red Devils but failed to secure a place in the team, often needing further development out on loan.
Last season, Chong showed he had the ability at Championship level with the Blues, impressing, and contributing to four goals in 20 games with a feeling there was more to come if he had stayed fit.
He has previously had loan spells in Germany and Belgium with Werder Bremen and Club Brugge, respectively.
According to Richard Fay, of Manchester Evening News, United are now open to selling Chong with the versatile forward in the final year of his contract.
A return to Birmingham, where he appeared to enjoy his temporary spell seems to make a lot of sense.
Earlier today, the West Midlands club signed Hannibal Mejbri on loan from Manchester United, further enhancing their good working relationship after Chong and Teden Mengi’s successful spells last season.
That relationship should help any transfer go through smoothly.
