Fofana was omitted from Leicester’s match-day squad on Saturday, August 20 after reportedly agreeing personal terms with Thomas Tuchel’s side on a six-year deal.

Top European Sides Show Interest in Chalobah – Move to Rivals Could Be on the Cards

Once the deal began reaching advanced stages, Chalobah expressed his desire to leave on loan after Italian giants Inter Milan showed interest in the young defender. However, he has since opened up to the idea of leaving the Blues permanently, after Spurs and Roma joined the list of clubs following him on the market.

Last season, the England U21 international started 17 games out of 38. He seemingly fell out of favour in the second half of the season when he missed 11 games in 2022 – only two through injury.

Throughout his time in a blue shirt, he has picked up an array of impressive silverware, including the FA Cup, UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.

Chelsea Only Want to Oversee Loan Deal

Chalobah has four years remaining on his contract in West London, meaning the club can likely dictate their academy graduate’s future, unless he was to go as far as to hand in a transfer request.

After Chelsea’s fiery clash with London rivals Spurs on Sunday, August 14, that saw both managers receive a red card for their ill-tempered antics on the touchline and at the full-time whistle, a move to Antonio Conte’s side could largely impact Chalobah’s reputation with the Stamford Bridge faithful.

Chalobah has represented the club since 2008, despite numerous loan spells, and has always shown his passion to play for the badge and leave everything on the pitch whenever he has got the chance to prove himself in front of the fans.
