Barcelona have set an asking price for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of about £25 million as Chelsea continues talks to sign the striker, according to Fabrizio Romano,
Romano’s full report states: “Barcelona have asked around €30m fee for Pierre Aubameyang during the weekend, Chelsea wanted to spend way less than this. Talks continue, as Marcos Alonso is still part of the conversations…Tuchel, pushing for Aubameyang as priority… but Xavi insists to keep him.”

300-Goal Man
One of the big reasons for The Blues’ interest in the 33-year-old is his goalscoring ability. His career tally is currently at 301 goals in senior football with 92 of those coming for London rivals Arsenal and 141 coming for Borussia Dortmund.

The Dortmund link is especially important in this case as Thomas Tuchel coached the Gabon international for two seasons at the Bundesliga club, which ended up being his two most prolific years to date. With Tuchel’s squad currently lacking a proven striker, Aubameyang could be a great pick-up.
Decisions
With Robert Lewandowski coming in the door at the Nou Camp this summer the club already has a top marksman. As they are still trying to sign Marcos Alonso and register Jules Kounde they may opt to let their January signing go to get two defenders in the door.

Alonso is an especially important name in this as he could be used as a counterweight to lower the price for Aubameyang. Chelsea are well aware of Barcelona’s desire to have the Spaniard as their left-back this coming season and have some negotiating power.
Either way, decisions will have to be made if the Catalan giants are to get all of their ducks in order before the window shuts.
