Experienced Reporter Reveals Manchester United Missed Out on ‘Goal Machine’ and Seven More Quality Players

Manchester United

Manchester United have missed out on the chance to sign many world-class players over the last few years, reveals reliable journalist Andy Mitten – who has maintained close ties with and covering the club for quite a few years now. This includes the likes of Erling Haaland, Jack Grealish and Joao Cancelo – all of who play for rivals Manchester City.

Manchester United Failed to Act On Scouts’ Recommendations for Top-Quality Players

Red Devils Ignored Calls to Sign Likes of Erling Haaland, Jude Bellingham and More

Over the years, the Red Devils received a lot of glowing recommendations on some of Europe’s brightest young talents. Mitten adds that the likes of Haaland, Grealish, and Cancelo were all recommended  – only for them to fail to push for them. All three now play for Manchester City, with the Norwegian goal machine having joined earlier this summer from Borussia Dortmund.

Last year, Gary Neville also revealed that he had recommended Cancelo to United many years ago – only for them to turn a blind eye towards it.

The Manchester side were also given glowing reports on Borussia Dortmund starlet Jude Bellingham, West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice as well as Chelsea forward Kai Havertz, but failed to pursue a move for either. With the Hammers’ midfielder reportedly now worth over £120 million, the Red Devils can’t afford him anymore.

Ralf Rangnick’s Recommendation to United Before Leaving

The Red Devils ended their ties with last season’s interim manager Ralf Rangnick after the disastrous end to the season. But before he left, the Austria national team manager also gave the club some vital recommendations for players to pursue in the summer.

That included RB Leipzig star and last season’s German Player of the Season Christopher Nkunku – who scored 32 goals and provided 20 assists in all competitions last season. Rangnick had also recommended for United to sign Aurelien Tchouameni, who ended up joining Champions League winners Real Madrid for a massive fee of over £80 million earlier this summer.
