Much-Needed Attacking Help
Milan are the reigning Serie A champions. Typically this means an exciting transfer window. Instead, Milan has mostly seen losses thus far. Perennial midfield star Franck Kessie departed to FC Barcelona while captain Alessio Romagnoli departed to Lazio. Milan did bring in former Liverpool striker Divock Origi and midfielder Yacine Adli and Tommaso Pobega who were on loan, but a major signing to excite the fanbase was needed. The De Ketelaere signing is just that.

The Belgian youngster already has an impressive résumé early on in his career. He shined in the Jupiler League and has already racked up senior appearances for the Belgian National Team. Perhaps there can be a solid connection up front with new signings De Ketelaere and Origi.

De Ketelaere’s versatility will be key. The player can play a multitude of attacking positions from striker to the attacking midfield. The striker pecking order looks to be set with Origi and Olivier Giroud who shined as a veteran last season. Zlatan Ibrahimovic will eventually return from injury as well. The attacking midfield and right-wing positions, currently manned by Brahim Diaz and Junior Messias, remain up for the taking. Although very young, there’s a clear route into the starting lineup for the Belgian.
