Tottenham Hotspur’s attacking trio of Harry Kane, Son Heung-Min and Dejan Kulusevski are a serious force to be reckoned with in Europe. In yet another warm-up friendly, Kane grabbed two goals while Sonny provided the assists. Kulusevski was a threat until his substitution into the second half. The Brazilian who came on in his stead wasn’t half bad either. How will Antonio Conte cope with all this attacking power on his hands? Spurs have the most firepower up front since Darren Bent, Dimitar Berbatov, Robbie Keane, Jermain Defoe et al.

Conte Will Have His Favourites and New Boys Will Want To Impress
Kane and Son are simply unplayable. While they may be trophyless they are easily two of the best attacking talents in Europe and have been for at least the past two seasons. Son shared the Golden Boot with Mohamed Salah last season, scoring 23 goals in 35 appearances. The telepathic wavelength between Kane and Son peaked with the most Premier League goal combinations between the pair.
Where Kane has been assisting Son, Son has also assisted Kane but not to the same extent. This is mainly due to Kane dropping deep and being able to pick out Son on his radar anywhere on the pitch. But in the 2-1 victory over Rangers in the Walter Tull Cup, Son turned all-provider, while Kane came up with two super finishes.
It all comes amidst a bit of background chatter about Kane’s future again. It’s an easy target to drum up hits. But Conte has made it ‘very clear’ that Kane is way too important to even consider letting go.

But it isn’t just about Kane and Son. Inevitably one of the pair will get injured, tired or sometimes need a bit of help. Kulusevski has quickly settled into life at the Lane and already has five goals, eight assists in his 18 appearances. Again he showed great attacking threat against Rangers. He might not be absolutely rapid off the mark, but it is his deceptively quick feet that allow him to put together some exciting runs. Already lighting up the Premier League, he’ll have European football to relish this season.
Brazilian Firepower
Don’t forget about the Brazilians. Lucas Moura is still a bit of an unsung hero. Rangers TV described him as a ‘really special player’ and truthfully, he is, on his day. Moura is blessed with an athleticism that can be a joy to watch. Bursting forward, he can easily beat three or four players and get Spurs up the field. This makes him a really decent sub. It’s impossible not to mention his hat-trick in Amsterdam where he showed tenacity, great feet and top-class finishing. But he doesn’t always bring that clinical cutting edge. All too often he runs into trouble. This is likely why he is often sidelined to the bench.
Richarlison is the latest Brazilian to don the Lilywhite strip. He’s already excelling in the Premier League, with no need to worry about that ‘bedding in’ time. Except, he’ll have to get used to his new teammates. Not least Cristian Romero, who has roughed him up in previous skirmishes. But when things were starting to get a bit heated after the Sevilla friendly, Richarlison was getting stuck in as much as his other teammates. Proper Erik Lamela style. Anyway, the key thing will be getting the new Spurs number nine to somehow upload himself into the Kane-Son goalscoring and assisting nexus. It will be exciting to see how Richarlison and Kulusevski rotate with and alongside Son and Kane. Tottenham Hotspur’s attacking trio could again break records next season, but most Spurs fans will just be hoping that they score the goals that win trophies.
