Centre-Back Search
It is no secret that Antonio Conte was looking to bolster his defensive options this window. With the veteran manager adopting his favoured back three formation upon his return to England, it took Spurs a while to find their best defensive unit, eventually settling on playing Ben Davies as a left-sided centre-back.
Argentine Cristian Romero has been a revelation since his arrival at the club last summer. The defender is a prime example of great recent recruitment at Spurs, who will be looking to welcome a left-sided centre-back this window to play alongside him
However, with top target Alessandro Bastoni seemingly unattainable this summer, the Italian has been forced to look elsewhere in his search. It looks as though it is Lenglet who will be making the move to North London.

Breakdown of The Deal
Spurs will only have to pay a portion of Lenglet’s wages during his time at the club, according to Alfredo Martinez. The transfer will cost the club a total of £6 million over the course of the season plus any loan fee that is included in the deal.
Spurs and Barcelona are still in direct contact over how the deal will be structured, but once that step is completed, Antonio Conte will have the new centre-back that he wanted this summer.

The Frenchman could be an important player for Spurs if he is to make the move to the Premier League. The club will be looking to get the deal sealed quickly to avoid any slip-ups.
