Recent comments made by new Real Madrid signing Aurelien Tchouameni show that the move was never in doubt. Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe had spoken to Tchouameni to get the young French midfield star to consider a move to Paris, but Los Blancos were always in Tchouameni’s sights.

Aurelien Tchouameni Comments Indicate Real Madrid Was Always Preferred

“I had the chance to choose other clubs, yes – but as soon as I knew Real Madrid wanted me, I never doubted,” Tchouameni said in quotes reported by Fabrizio Romano. “I’m really happy to be here, to start a new chapter with the best club in the world.”
PSG superstar Mbappe was hot on the trails for Tchouameni to join him, but of course that never happened.
“Kylian Mbappé spoke to me, and asked me if I could come to Paris… but I told him I want to join Real Madrid, my choice was always Madrid – he understood my decision, he’s happy for me,” Tchouameni added.
In fact, Tchouameni also stated that another French midfield star, Eduardo Camavinga, asked Tchouameni to join him at the Santiago Bernabéu instead. Of course, Tchouameni opted for that.

Real Madrid’s midfield is now set for the foreseeable future. Stars like Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, and Casemiro still remain. They’re going down as legends for the club. For both the present and future, however, Tchouameni joins the likes of Camavinga, and Federico Valverde.
