Liverpool have rejected an improved offer for Bayern Munich target Sadio Mané, report The Athletic. The improved offer amounted to £23.5 million, with potential add-ons totalling a combined £30 million. The bid was said to be swiftly denied as Liverpool hold out for a deal worth £40 million plus for their deadly frontman.
Hasan Salihamidzic, Head of Sport at Bayern Munich, wants to fly to England to negotiate with Julian Ward, as per Christian Falk. Bayern are said to be willing to increase the offer for Sadio Mané.

Liverpool Eyeing Mané Payout
The 30-year-old has one year left on his contract at Anfield and Fabrizio Romano has reported the Senegalese attacker is ready to agree personal terms with the Bavarians. Mané is expected to leave Liverpool for Bayern, with Mohamed Salah, whose future was also unsure, expected to stay The Reds want to ensure they get the perfect payout for one of their most lethal attackers.

Bayern’s initial bid of a combined £25 million was rejected on Monday by Liverpool. The new offer would only reach £30 million if Bayern won the Champions League and Mané won the Ballon d’Or within the next three seasons, which the Liverpool hierarchy marked as laughable. The difference between the two offers only guaranteed the Reds an extra £2.5 million. Not much of an increase in the football industry between two of Europe’s giants.
Bayern’s Necessity Playing Into Liverpool’s Hands
Bayern will need a striker this summer. Following Robert Lewandowski’s shock decision to move on from the Allianz Arena this summer in pursuit of a move to Barcelona, Bayern must replace him. After being priced out of Erling Haaland, a more traditional number nine, already, it is likely Bayern officials see Sadio Mané as a replacement for their Polish superstar. While not a traditional number nine, since the arrival of Luis Diaz in January, Sadio Mane has excelled as the spearhead of attacks. The Senegalese international, who has only failed to score 20 goals once in the last five seasons, managed 23 this season and could be handed the number nine shirt at Bayern if a deal can be reached.
