Dusan Vlahovic Staying in Serie A

Dusan Vlahovic

Juventus and Fiorentina have reached an agreement on the transfer for Dusan Vlahovic, according to Fabrizio Romano. The Serbian’s transfer saga, rumoured originally to be going to Arsenal, is now over. He will join Juventus right as the club is moving back into the thick of things in the Serie A top-four race.

Romano mentions that Juventus are paying Fiorentina €75 million for the 21-year-old striker. It’s an expensive deal, but one worth making for a team needing a goal-scoring threat. In addition, Vlahovic looks to be a once in a generation type of talent.

The Player and the Fit

There’s no doubt surrounding Vlahovic despite his young age. He’s running the show in Serie A as arguably the top striker.

Last season, Vlahovic scored 21 goals and provided two assists in 37 Serie A appearances. He was only 20-years-old.

This season, he has 17 goals and five assists in 21 Serie A appearances. He also has three goals in three matches in the Coppa Italia. He’s a natural goal scorer and will be throughout his career. The Serbian phenomenon is already a star at 21, so one can imagine how much better he can become.

Juventus currently have two true strikers on their squad. This includes Alvaro Morata and Moise Kean. This is by no means a bad duo, but improvements can surely be made. That’s exactly what Juventus are doing here.

In addition, they now have two of the top young players in all of football to build around in Vlahovic and Matthijs de Ligt. As of right now, Juventus are also right outside of the top four in the Serie A table. They’re one point behind Atalanta, who also have a game in hand. The influx of goals that comes with the Vlahovic signing can definitely vault Juventus back into Champions League contention and that alone will cover the transfer fee.
