Fabrizio Romano has reported that confirmation is now close regarding Brian Brobbey and his return to Ajax on loan. There had been talk that the loan would also include an option to buy, but Romano has confirmed that no such clause will be involved in the deal.

Brian Brobbey Ajax Return Edging Closer
Ajax Preparing to Announce Loan Comeback for Brian Brobbey
Final details are still being drawn up, but the deal is all but done – according to transfer specialist Romano. Brobbey became a star playing for Ajax, but the 19-year-old turned down the chance to sign a contact extension and moved to the Bundesliga with Leipzig on a free transfer. The move, however, has not worked out for the young attacker.
Limited Chances Under Jesse Marsch
Under Jesse Marsch, Brobbey rarely got a chance to show his potential and was limited to just 14 appearances in the first half of the 2021/22 season and only one of those came in a starting role. Even then, his appearance was cut short when he was taken off after just 43 minutes in a 3-1 loss to Bayer Leverkusen. Marsch was then sacked, but new manager Domenico Tedesco has also not seen fit to give Brobbey much game time.
Agent Mino Raiola Confirms Ajax Interest
Speaking with Dutch broadcaster US, Mino Raiola – Brobbey’s agent – talked of how Ajax are really keen to have the player back at the club:
“Ajax really shows that they want him back. The feeling is good. He has to play as much as possible and he’s a bit lost in Leipzig at the moment. Of course I feel responsible for his situation. But I’m man enough to say that I think it is best if he goes back to Ajax now.”
On the brink of an Ajax return, Brobbey will hope to kickstart his career.
