The Story Continues

Dybala has seen his fair share of success with Juventus. He’s won more than a handful of Serie A titles, sprinkled in with victorious Coppa Italia campaigns and a Champions League final.

Now at 28-years-old, Dybala enters the prime of his career.

His best domestic season came in 2017/18, where he scored 22 goals and provided five assists in 33 matches. Last season, however, he struggled with only four goals and three assists as Juventus surrendered the Serie A crown to Inter Milan.

Dybala is currently on and off this season. He mixes in flashes of brilliance with disappointing matches. He holds three goals and three assists in nine league appearances. Dybala has, however, played quite well in the Champions League.

Juventus now relies upon Dybala to bring them back to the top in Italy. The club sits in eighth-place with 21 points. This is 11 points less than leaders Napoli. They’re only four points behind fourth-placed Atalanta in the hunt for Champions League qualification, however.

As a whole, Juventus have been quite stagnant. First off, they’re not scoring at a high rate. They have 18 goals in Serie A, 14 less than the top-scoring team Inter. The defence looks shaky, which is something Juventus fans are not accustomed to, while the midfield lacks spark or creativity. Dybala is the focal point of the current team, and the new contract shows the club’s faith in him.

Dybala must find his form of years prior to once again elevate Juventus to the top.
