Benfica forward Carlos Vinicius is set complete his move to Dutch side PSV Eindhoven, according to Fabrizio Romano. Mostly recognised for his loan spell at Tottenham Hotspur, it surprised many when the north London club did not pursue a permanent deal for the forward. He ticked most boxes that you look for in a striker. He is young, clinical in front of goal and strong.
Whilst at Spurs, too, he impressed many, scoring ten goals and assisting a further three. Amongst his goals, Vinicius even netted a hat-trick in the FA Cup against Marine. If handed more opportunities in the Premier League, the chances are, we’d still be seeing him in a Tottenham Hotspur shirt.
It wasn’t to be in the end, however, with a move from Benfica to PSV now imminent.

Striker Will Hand PSV Significant Boost
Carlos Vinicius will undoubtedly score plenty of goals for PSV, he proved his quality whilst at Spurs. And those goals could be game-changers or title deciders in the Eredivisie. The deal will be more than worthwhile, and it wouldn’t come as a surprise to see the forward quickly become a fan favourite in the Netherlands.
Together with Eran Zahavi, he can form one of the best strike partnerships in the division despite their young ages. With the experience of Mario Gotze in behind, too, PSV have got themselves a frightening frontline for teams to content with. Just recently, without the addition of Vinicius, they swept Groningen aside to win 5-2. And, three games in, they sit top of the tree, looking to take the Dutch crown.
Competing with Ajax is never easy, but PSV, with the squad that they’ve built, are more than capable of pipping their fellow Dutch giants to the title.
