Carabao Cup Third Round Draw in Full

Carabao Cup

In what was a much needed victory, Arsenal eased past West Bromwich Albion to reach the next round of the Carabao Cup in style. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will take most of the credit for the thumping 6-0 victory, having netted a fine hat-trick to round off an excellent return to action. Mikel Arteta will be breathing a sigh of relief after seeing his side pick up their first win and score their first goals of the season.

West Bromwich Albion presented somewhat of a banana skin for a vulnerable Arsenal side, but, instead of slipping, the Gunners charged onwards and through to the next round. The manner of the defeat comes as no real shock when considering the team that Valérien Ismaël put out. The Baggies manager made 11 changes in total, clearly focusing on pursuing Championship promotion rather than an underdog cup run.

Now through to the Third Round, Arsenal will join the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea, Everton and current holders Manchester City, who are looking to make it five successful cup triumphs in a row this season to add to their wins in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021.
