Arsenal have been on the lookout for a new goalkeeper to bring in to the club this summer transfer window and although it now appears a move for Aaron Ramsdale is off the table, The Athletic’s James McNicholas is reporting that they will now turn to Barcelona’s Neto in their pursuit of a shot-stopper.

Arsenal Prepared to Move for Neto Now Ramsdale Move is Off the Table
The Gunners were determined to land Aaron Ramsdale but it looks like they may have been priced out of a move for the Sheffield United man and may have to look elsewhere.
Now, it’s Neto who looks like he could be brought in as a potential number two.
Barcelona need to sell players this summer and therefore a deal could more easily struck to sign the 32-year old. The Catalan giants are struggling financially and it means they are in desperate need of offloading more players this window.

If the Gunners do make an approach then for the player, they may be inclined to let him go to raise some more funds.
He was once one of the most important shot-stoppers in Spain, with the player being a regular during his time at Valencia as they finished fourth for two seasons in a row. He was then snapped up by Barcelona, where he has been resigned to making the occasional appearance rather than playing every week. In fact, in two seasons, he has managed only nine games for the La Liga club.
Although it could be more of the same for Arsenal if he was to make the move to England, a few good performances for the Gunners could convince them to hand him more first-team action.
Either way, Neto’s experience (he’s been part of a title-winning Juventus side and has accumulated over 150 appearances in Serie A and La Liga) could be of huge benefit to Arsenal. With the player available on the cheap too, it could be an inspired move by Mikel Arteta and the club.
