Juventus Transfer News: Kaio Jorge Official, Merih Demiral Close to Departure

Juventus transfer news

According to Max Bielefeld of Sky Sports, Juventus defender Merih Demiral is closing in on a move to fellow Italian club Atalanta. The deal will reportedly be a loan with an obligation to buy of €35 million, with the Juventus transfer news, regarding exits and arrivals, ramping up.

Both Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen were interested, but Demiral is set to remain in the Serie A and Italy for next season and perhaps beyond. The deal could giveaway the plans for Cristian Romero, who looks set for a move to Tottenham Hotspur. Replacing the Argentine with Demiral wouldn’t exactly be bad business, either.

With Demiral set to leave, Juventus have been quick to act by securing Kaio Jorge from Santos for an initial fee of €1.5 million.

Demiral Deal Could Give Green Light for Romero Exit

In a fairly smart piece of business, Atalanta could sell Romero for a hefty fee before replacing him with a defender they won’t have to pay a transfer fee for until next summer. The transfer fee on top of that, too, won’t exactly break the bank, either.

They’ll be getting themselves the perfect combination. Demiral is 23, giving him plenty of time to develop, whilst welcoming a player with experience at the top.

Losing Romero will still hurt if it happens, however. After all, they’ll be losing one of the best central defenders in the Serie A, who is at the perfect age. But, the fact is, they seemed to have acted swiftly in their search for a potential replacement.

Kaio Jorge Official

Whilst Demiral’s exit looks closer than ever, Kaio Jorge has officially left Santos to become a Juventus player. The striker, aged just 19, has the opportunity of a lifetime to set Europe alight. The transfer news has certainly ramped up in Italy and Juventus.

The coming weeks will be key in the Serie A, as sides set up for the season.
