Owen Otasowie Rejects New Wolves Deal
The Midfielder is in the Final Year of his Contract
Owen Otasowie has rejected a new contract offer from Wolverhampton Wanderers. The midfielder is in the final year of his contract and can move on a free transfer in six months. Otasowie is reportedly attracting interest from Wolfsburg and Anderlecht. If Wolves fail to sign the midfielder, they run the risk of losing the player on a free transfer in six months. Wolves will have to decide whether to sell the young midfielder or risk losing the player on a free.
Otasowie only joined Wolves academy in 2017. The defensive midfielder started his youth career with the Mass Elite Academy and joined West Ham United before moving to the Midlands. Otasowie spent two seasons in the Wolves academy and signed his first professional contract last year. The defensive midfielder made his professional debut soon after he signed the new contract.
Last season saw Otasowie make seven appearances for Wolves but struggled to nail down a regular spot in the starting lineup. With Ruben Neves’ future still in doubt, the club will want to keep the 20-year-old American international.
Ruben Neves Update
Ruben Neves’ future at Wolves is still in doubt. Fabrizio Romano had earlier indicated that the Portuguese midfielder was likely to move out of the Molineux this summer. Arsenal and Manchester United are keenly following the situation of the 24-year-old, but haven’t made an official bid for the midfielder.
Earlier this week, Fabrizio Romano, during his twitch session, reported that the Portuguese midfielder leaving the club is still a possibility. Neves has been one of the first names in the starting lineup for Wolverhampton Wanderers since his move back in 2017.
