After easing past Ukraine 4-0 in the quarter-finals, the Three Lions faced their toughest challenge yet in Denmark. The Danes put up a valiant fight, opening the scoring with the tournament’s first goal from a direct free-kick, but, with striking resemblance to England’s 2018 World Cup semi-final defeat to Croatia, the team who took the lead with a first-half free-kick ended up losing in extra-time.
