Someone so young being trusted not only by his club but by his country is a rarity. The physicality and demands of the game are often too much for teenagers but the Mexican attacker has been able to handle it adeptly.
Gilberto Mora Stats
In 53 appearances for Club Tijuana, Mora has notched an impressive 10 goals with two assists. He is yet to get off the mark for the Mexican national team in his seven caps. He has over 3,000 minutes of senior football to his name before turning 18 with about 400 minutes added on from Mexico.

His Mexican appearances have largely come in uncompetitive settings with four being friendlies but three of them were in the Gold Cup winning campaign in 2025, where he got over 70 minutes in the semi-final and final, assisting the winner against Honduras to get to the final.
He was played extensively for the Mexican youth teams, getting caps from U15 up to U20, playing a total of 31 matches across the age groups, consistently playing up a few years ahead of his actual age. His 16 goals in those is a respectable total given he was against older, better developed players most of the time.
Playing Style
Mora can operate centrally between the lines and in the half space. He’s comfortable receiving the ball on the turn and moving inside, cutting inside to get a shot away. His touch when dribbling can be a bit loose but this can be refined with time. He isn’t selfish either, if in a strong position he can pick out the correct pass to create a better scoring chance and is equally comfortable going outside his defender and whipping a ball into the danger zone.

What will appeal to top level clubs is his alertness and tenacity; he can create chances from turnovers, always remaining alert to defensive lapses and being strong in the tackle. He’s clutch in moments like that, capable of scoring snap shots that catch the opposition off guard.
If given time in and around the box, he isn’t afraid to take a shot with either foot, which makes him a difficult task for any defender. A two-footed winger who can go either way when facing you down is a nightmare for even the best defenders.
