Arsenal Transfer News: Third Ben White Bid to Be Made, Nuno Tavares and Albert Lokonga Close

Arsenal transfer news

Arsenal transfer news is heating up once again as they look to finally get some deals over the line. As it stands, the Gunners are very much the nearly club in the transfer market. They’ve been in the mix for a few deals but are yet to land any new signings as of yet. According to Sky Sports, however, they are closing in on deals for Nuno Tavares and Albert Lokonga whilst also preparing a third bid for England defender Ben White.

Lokonga, in particular, is a must. The Anderlecht midfielder is just 21-years-old, making him an ideal prospect. Looking at Arsenal’s lack of midfield options, too, it is clear they need to get this one finalised. In total, Arsenal have just two three deep lying midfielders with one of those being Granit Xhaka, who is likely to leave. Meanwhile, in advanced roles, Mikel Arteta only has Joe Willock and Emile Smith Rowe to call upon with Bukayo Saka likely favouring the wing.

Benfica left-back Nuno Tavares is also reportedly close to making the move, where he’ll likely act as the backup to injury-prone Kieran Tierney.

Ben White Deal Would Prove Doubters Wrong

Even the biggest of Arsenal fans would not deny that the club’s stature on the pitch has decreased. They used to be one of the best sides in Europe. Now, they can’t even qualify for a place in the Europa League. Their fall from grace has been disastrous, yet many still believed they had their stature in the transfer market. However, after losing out on Emi Buendia to Aston Villa, it became clear that the Gunners were no longer a club to be feared off the pitch.

They must prove that notion wrong by securing a big name, one that many clubs would like to have themselves. And that big name can be Ben White. The Brighton & Hove Albion centre-back has all the hallmarks of a top modern-day defender. On the ball, he looks as comfortable as ever whilst off the ball, he has little struggle. Now an England international as well, Arsenal must continue their pursuit of White.
