Doncaster Rovers Secure Bristol City Winger
One of the top deals of the day came on a free as Bristol City winger Tommy Rowe dropped down a division to join Doncaster Rovers. The winger can also play left-back, making him an ideal option for Doncaster. Manager Richie Wellens will be desperate to improve on last season after a bottom half finish.

The manager expressed his delight at securing Rowe: “We’ve been nervous about getting this done because he’s the type of player that someone could easily come in with an offer that would have blown us out of the water.”
“He’s come in because he’s hungry, he wants another promotion on his CV and he wants to work in an environment with a group of staff and players that he can see are fighting together and moving forward.
“The club have played a big part in his return because he’s got his relationship with the supporters and his memories of the supporters. I think that went a long way in his decision too.”
The midfielder, who enjoyed one previous spell at the club, will hope to enjoy further success.

Subject to international clearance, Ryan Wintle has completed a free move from Crewe Alexandra to Cardiff City. The midfielder was ‘buzzing’ to seal the deal, telling Cardiff City TV:“I’m buzzing that it’s sorted and I’m so happy to be here. I’m all-action, I’d say. I get forward, I get back and hopefully I’ll try and be a fans’ favourite and do everything that they want from me.
“I spoke to [Perry Ng] as soon as I found out about the interest and he had a very high regard for this place. When we didn’t have a game I watched Cardiff because I was watching Perry. Now I’m here as a player so hopefully we can win games together!
”I then came down, spoke to the Manager, was very happy with what I heard and I couldn’t wait to join. I’m one of those players that will wear their heart on their sleeve and hopefully I can repay the faith that he’s placed in me.”
