Yannick Bolasie has joined Middlesbrough on loan after being persuaded by Neil Warnock to move to the Championship side instead of a switch to Turkey.

The transfer was confirmed via the club’s official Twitter account on Thursday afternoon.
When asked about Bolasie’s imminent arrival by The Daily Mail prior to him signing, Warnock stated: “I spoke to him, and he was going to go to Turkey. But he spoke to me and I said – look, just come and enjoy yourself for a couple of months – you can always go to Turkey and places like that later.”
The 31-year-old brings plenty of experience to the Riverside. The winger scored once and provided four assists from just 16 games at Crystal Palace when managed by Warnock. He managed 144 appearances for the South London side before moving to Everton.
The DR Congo international has made just under 400 appearances at club level and has turned out on 40 occasions for his national side.
Bolasie brings a wealth of experience, having clocked up over 450 career appearances, including nine years as a Premier League player.
On the arrival, Warnock said: “I’ve known Yannick for many years. I asked him if he could help us out until the end of the season and get some fitness in at the same time.
“We can’t expect wonders but he’s a good lad and he can play different positions for me. He’ll be good in the dressing room and it’s a big boost for us.”
Bolasie Hoping to Rekindle Form of Old as He Looks to Shake Aside Injury Troubles
After impressing at Crystal Palace under Alan Pardew, Bolasie moved to Everton for £25 million in 2016. However, his big-money move to Goodison Park was ruined because of persistent injury problems.
He has only made 29 appearances for the Toffees in four and a half years on Merseyside.
Warnock will be hoping the winger can recapture his form of previous years when his trickery and silky skills made him one of the Premier League’s most unpredictable attacking threats.
Should Bolasie impress on loan, Middlesbrough would have the option of signing him for free in the summer, with his contract at Everton set to expire in June.
