Mario Mandzukic is edging closer to completing a deal to join AC Milan, with the player set to undergo a medical tomorrow according to Fabrizio Romano.
AC Milan to Seal Deal for Mario Mandzukic
Been Linked With a Move Back to Italy
The striker has been linked with a move back to Italy, as he is currently a free agent and would be available for absolutely nothing. He would provide Milan with yet another veteran option in attack, as they bid to secure the Serie A title.
A deal is now nearly done for the player according to these reports, with the 34-year old set to have a medical in Italy ahead of a move.
It could prove to be some good business by Milan, who are on the hunt for the right kind of recruits this month to keep their title challenge going.
Experience Across Several European Leagues
Mandzukic has certainly experienced top-level football, having also played for Juventus in Serie A and helped them to five league titles in five seasons at the club – so he certainly knows what it takes to win.
He also knows what it takes to bag as well as set up a goal in the league, providing Juve with 46 goal contributions during his time at the club.
Before Italy, he played for Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich, two more teams who both regularly find themselves battling at the right end of their respective league tables.
Mario Mandzukic Would Join AC Milan on a Free Transfer
Managing 53 goals in the Bundesliga and 12 in La Liga shows that he can adapt to any league that he is played in and, now, aged 34, he also has the experience to move back to Italy and contribute to Milan’s title fight.
The deal, as mentioned, would be for absolutely nothing too. This is down to the fact that the Croatian is currently without a club.
With this move back to Europe, he’ll be hoping to prove he still has what it takes to cut it in the big leagues for Milan.
