It’s an important week ahead for Oxford United. Having come through their last three games without defeat, Karl Robinson’s side will be looking to pick up some valuable points in the remaining games in December.

Two Sides in the Bottom Half
The U’s start the week with the visit of Northampton Town. The newly-promoted Cobblers sit just one place and two points above Oxford with both sides having made slow starts to their respective campaigns.
Having drawn with Ipswich Town, Hull City and Blackpool in their last three, Robinson will be looking for his side to turn draws into wins against a Northampton side that have lost their last two in the league.
For Oxford, they kept two clean sheets in their last three league games, with their previous clean sheet coming back in February.
It will be a difficult ask though for Oxford with Cobblers unbeaten in eight games against the U’s. That run includes five wins, four of which have come at Grenoble Road.
The U’s follow the Northampton game with a fixture against another bogey team in Bristol Rovers. The Gas are in 15th place in League One but sit just three points ahead of Oxford.
The U’s have recorded just one win in nine against Paul Tisdale’s side, with Rovers winning six meetings.
Important Month for Oxford United
It isn’t just an important week ahead for Oxford United but also an important month. The U’s following three games are also against teams in the bottom half.
After the trip to the Memorial Stadium, Oxford welcome AFC Wimbledon before visits to Plymouth Argyle and Burton Albion. Currently, the Dons are 14th on 20 points, Plymouth are 16th on 19 points and the Brewers prop up the table on just 13 points.
The U’s will be looking to turn their recent draws into wins and are presented with a good opportunity when facing teams in and around them in the league table.
