The transfer period once again comes to a close. A period, which was extended from the summer to autumn, has played out to some notable transfers across La Liga. Here we take a look at five of the most eye catching deals.

Luis Suárez: Barcelona to Atlético Madrid Free Transfer

The Uruguayan hitman swapped the stripes of Barcelona for the stripes of Atlético Madrid. Despite his age, the 33-year-old still possesses the talent to succeed at the highest level. He made an impressive debut against Granada – coming off the bench in the second half to score twice. Suárez also created an assist to cap a memorable debut. He had an impressive record when linking with the likes of Neymar and Lionel Messi – scoring 147 goals in 191 appearences. After that, he will look to take that into his career in Madrid. The prospect of a highly electric duo of Diego Costa and himself under the guidance of Diego Simeone promises to be a mouth-watering prospect.

 

David Silva: Manchester City to Real Sociedad Free Transfer

Silva returns to Spain with Real Sociedad after a glittering 10-year-spell with Manchester City. Throughout his decade of delight at City, the magician won every domestic honour possible. This included four Premier League titles to cement himself into the folklore of Manchester City history. Similarly, he was integral to shift the power from the red half of the city to the blue.

He has been highly successful in his international career too. Silva was a World Cup winner 10 years ago. He was part of the record three titles in a row with Spain adding to the European Championship successes in 2008 and 2012. 125 caps and 37 goals meant Silva played a huge role in Spain’s golden generation. So all eyes will be on San Sebastián for his progress as he returns to Spanish football.

Ivan Rakitić: Barcelona to Sevilla £1 million

The classy Croatian midfielder returned to his spiritual home of Sevilla this summer. The cut price deal seems a bargain for the Andalusians. Rakitić brings a wealth of experience and comes back after six highly successful years in Barcelona. He played 117 games and netted 27 goals in his first spell. And he has already hit he ground running in this second coming at Sevilla. He scored a goal in the teams recent victory over Cádiz. In addition, the midfielder also figured in Sevilla’s narrow defeat to Bayern Munich in the European Super Cup.

Sergiño Dest: Ajax to Barcelona £18 million

The Dutch born right back had an impressive campaign last season. He appeared 23 times for the Amsterdam outfit. And his notable displays in the Eredivisie earned him a move to Can Barça – linking up with fellow countryman, Barça coach Ronald Koeman. He recently made his debut in La Liga coming on as a substitute against Sevilla. He also has the distinction of becoming the first American to play in the colours of Barcelona.

Takefusa Kubo: Real Madrid to Villarreal Loan Transfer

Takefusa Kubo was a revelation staring for Real Mallorca last season. The winger belies his 19 years and played 31 games with three goals and five assists. In addition, he has tremendous technique with great dribbling skills which causes huge problems for the opposition players. Remarkably, eight out of the 10 most watched matches of La Liga in Japan involved Real Mallorca thanks to the Japanese international, capped seven times.

Thanks to his success, he has earned himself a move to Villarreal on loan from parent club Real Madrid. Above all, he will be able to showcase his talents at El Madrigal to the European audience with The Yellow Submarine participating in the Europa League.
