Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is seemingly on the lookout for cover for left-back Andy Robertson. The Scotsman arrived at Anfield from Hull City on the back of relegation from the Premier League. Lewis is represented by PLG agency, who also looks after Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Klopp’s men may yet face competition for their target. However, it is believed they are at the most advanced stage in talks with Norwich City currently.

The 22-year-old played on 28 occasions this season as the Canaries suffered relegation at the first time of asking under manager Daniel Farke. However, Lewis’ performances were one of the few shining lights from an otherwise dismal season at Carrow Road.

Lewis’ energetic runs from left-back were one of the positive points about Norwich’s play throughout the season. As a result, it could make him the perfect understudy for Liverpool’s current incumbent in the role.

Robertson was a feature in almost every match during the successful 2019/20 campaign. He was only unavailable or rested there was a glaring lack of natural cover in his position, with James Milner and Joe Gomez both filling in with far less effectiveness. Lewis could well be the answer to that issue.

At £10 million in today’s market, Lewis represents somewhat of a bargain. As a result of Liverpool’s frugal spending pattern, it’s a deal that could suit them down to the ground.
