Chelsea Nowhere Near Completing the Signing
The youngster is on loan from Real Madrid. The Spanish giants were expected to recall him from his loan at the end of this season, to fill in for a declining Dani Carvajal. However, Chelsea have shown lots of interest in the Moroccan; they are the favourites to get his signature.
According to reports from of Calciomercato, Juventus have entered the race to sign Hakimi. They claim that the injury troubles of Mattia de Sciglio and Danilo is the main factor leading the Serie A champions to target the signing of another right-back. Since the exit of Dani Alves, the Bianconeri have failed to properly fill in this position; they even forced winger, Juan Cuadrado, to fill in. Juventus are in dire need of a new player in this position, so they will provide stiff competition for Chelsea.
Real Madrid are also keen to keep Hakimi, according to reports from Manu de Juan of Diario AS. Jose Felix Diaz of Marca has reported that Bayern Munich are also monitoring Hakimi. This just adds to the long list of European giants keen on collecting the Moroccan’s signature.
Another reason why Chelsea might find it tough to sign the youngster is that they cannot guarantee playing time. Reece James has already solidly secured Chelsea’s right-back position for the future. On the other hand, Juventus should have no problem giving Hakimi game time, as they desperately need him.
