Leeds United Fans React to Nottingham Forest Defeat
‘Poised to Go off a Cliff’
The Whites fell to a 2-0 defeat at the City Ground in front of the Sky Sports cameras earlier today (Saturday 8 February).
Sammy Ameobi gave the hosts the lead in the first half before Tyler Walker netted in second-half stoppage-time.
The result leaves Leeds within touching distance of the fast-approaching Fulham, Forest and Brentford.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side looked dangerous in the opening moments as Ezgjan Alioski came closest with a deflected shot travelling wide of Brice Samba’s net.
The visitors should have levelled with 15 minutes left when Liam Cooper was found unmarked in the penalty area.
He forced a save from Samba before the ‘keeper rose off the ground to claw the defender’s header off the line.
But the end result was wrapped up when Joe Lolley stole the ball inside Leeds’ half and squared it to Walker to slot past Kiko Casilla.
Here’s what Leeds United fans had to say on Twitter after full-time.
Just feels like our season is poised to go off a cliff. Something needs to change – everything feels like it’s landing wrong and hard to see a way back. #lufc

We are throwing this promotion away – don’t care what anyone says we will not get outta this league if we carry on with the way we are playing, something need to change drastically

Never say anything negative about them but today was woeful. But massive game now on Tuesday. #mot #alaw

Even by Leeds’ standards, our decline has been spectacular. We could drop to 5th by the end of play Wednesday. Our 11-point cushion on 3rd has evaporated, and we’re in the worst form of the top 6. 5 defeats in 6 & we’ve failed to score in 5 of those. We’re just broken. As am I.

I always try and be positive but our recent form is very concerning just hope Bielsa realises he has to change something, freshen things up because otherwise we’ll be fighting to make play offs #lufc #mot #alaw https://t.co/Ztd90LSDh0

Fell into how they wanted the game to go. Lacked the confidence to influence the game, need the belief back. Both on & off the pitch ??#mot #lufc #alaw

That’s a poor performance as I’ve seen under Bielsa we have to change something or we’ll be outside the play offs very quickly as teams below us have momentum #lufc #mot #alaw
