Manny Adebowale Joins Crawley Town

Crawley Town have completed the signing of Eastbourne Borough player Manny Adebowale on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

Career So Far

Born in Stratford, East London, Adebowale started his career with West Ham United. Having left the Hammers, though, he went on to join then League One side Sheffield United on a two-year scholarship in the summer of 2013.

While with the Blades as a youth player, Adebowale spent time on loan in non-league with Goole AFC and Sheffield FC. After being released by United, he came back down south to have spells with both Hayes & Yeading United and Bishop’s Stortford.

Adebowale joined Dover Athletic in the summer of 2017 before linking up with Eastbourne last summer.

What Was Said

Speaking about the move to the club website, Adebowale said: “I’m buzzing to have signed the deal and just can’t wait to get going.

“I know Lee (Bradbury) from my time at Eastbourne and he, along with the gaffer and the chance to play league football, was a huge factor in me signing on. There’ll be a lot of hard work to come from me, but I want to try and assert myself and try and break into that starting eleven.”

Consolidation

Crawley are having an average season in League Two, currently sitting 13th after 30 matches.

Given how tight the bottom of League Two is this season, a poor run of form could see them sucked into the relegation battle at the bottom of the table.

However, with the signing of Adebowale, they will be hopeful that he can provide enough goals to keep them roughly where they are in the standings.

Perhaps, with enough firepower, they could even make a late surge for the play-offs, but their current form appears to be too inconsistent for that to be a realistic possibility.
