West Ham Return
Randolph’s return to the London side for an undisclosed fee has been long anticipated with a deal reportedly being agreed at the start of the month.
The Middlesbrough ‘keeper first joined the Hammers before the 2015-16 season and rejoins on a three-and-a-half-year deal.
After a two-year spell with Birmingham City, he made 15 appearances in all competitions for the Hammers.
Only six appearances came in the Premier League as Randolph became the second choice behind Adrian.
His fortunes improved in the 2016-17 season, making 24 appearances and keeping five clean sheets.
Middlesbrough Move
Randolph switched Upton Park for the Riverside in search of more playing time.
The 32-year-old dropped down a division and has become a fan-favourite in the North-East.
He featured in all 46 games in back-to-back Championship seasons as Boro finished fifth and seventh respectively.
He also kept 36 clean sheets, leading to a spot in the 2018-19 Championship Team of the Season.
Despite starting the season strongly under Jonathan Woodgate, he has since slipped down the pecking order to youngster Aynsley Pears.
Randolph: Delighted to Be Back
Speaking to the club website, Randolph said: “I’m delighted to be back at West Ham United. I had two great years at the Club previously and still have a lot of friends here, so I had no hesitation in coming back,” he said. “West Ham is a massive club, with fantastic supporters and an excellent squad of players.
“It’s a great challenge for me and I am really looking forward to working with the goalkeepers here and helping the team in any way I can.
“I’d like to thank everyone at Middlesbrough – the management, staff, players and fans – for their support. I had a great time there and wish them all the very best for the rest of the season.
“This opportunity was simply too good to turn down, though. It’s a great feeling to be back in the Premier League with such a fantastic club, and I can’t wait to get started.”
