Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 18 has only nine fixtures to pick from with Liverpool and West Ham United having a blank gameweek. Read on to find out the best options from the 18 teams that will have matches this weekend.
Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 18 Picks
Goalkeepers
Vicente Guaita has performed really well recently and has a decent shot at a clean sheet against Newcastle United. One could make a similar case for Martin Dubravka as well. That match could end up goalless.
Bournemouth got a shock away win at Stamford Bridge last week to snap out of their horrid run of five straight defeats. Can the Cherries beat Burnley at home? This is a match that could see a clean sheet for either goalkeeper. Nick Pope and Aaron Ramsdale are both viable options.
Defenders
Defenders from Crystal Palace and Newcastle United should be on the top of your list this week. Martin Kelly, Jetro Willems, Fabian Schar, and Federico Fernández are available at bargain prices.
John Lundstram rewarded his FPL owners with a double-digit score last week. He has a tough away match this week but still could get attacking points.
Aston Villa are fighting against relegation and despite their poor defensive record, one could look at attack-minded fullback Matt Target who is available at a really attractive price. He will be facing his old side Southampton as well. He is on four yellow cards though.
Matt Doherty, Lewis Dunk, Diego Rico, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Frederic Guilbert are also decent picks this week.
Midfielders
Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea should be an end to end matchup with great attacking potential on both sides. Son Heung-min could shine. Dele Alli is a great option as well. They have both averaged over 7.5 points under Jose Mourinho.
Jack Grealish and James Ward-Prowse both have good attacking potential as Aston Villa host Southampton.
Manchester City will take on high-flying Leicester City at home this week. It won’t be easy but Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling can do well. Kevin De Bruyne absolutely smashed it last week and if he is on song, one would expect another solid return for the Belgian.
Anthony Martial is hardly the most trustworthy pick around. However, every once in a while he returns a huge score. Watford away could just be one of those matches. Daniel James could also be considered.
Richarlison could be a great pick this week. Arsenal are still passing an uncertain time with their managerial situation and could slump to another defeat with or without a new manager in charge. The Brazillian is the ideal man to take full advantage of the situation.
Strikers
Aston Villa have conceded the most shots in the box over the last four matches, which is great news for Danny Ings owners. Southampton will need him to fire if they are to get a result at Villa Park.
Marcus Rashford has a fantastic fixture this week and he is one of the standouts picks this week. Watford should provide plenty of opportunities for Rashford to get an attacking return or more.
Harry Kane and Tammy Abraham both could get amongst the goals. Tottenham won this particular fixture 3-1 last season with Harry Kane getting a goal. Kane has four goals in ten matches against Chelsea. On the other hand, Tottenham’s shaky defence holds promise for Tammy Abraham’s FPL owners.
Raul Jimenez and Teemu Pukki face off in a match that should see some goals. Their FPL owners will be hoping for some solid points from them. Jimenez hardly ever blanks and often gets assists as well.
Despite playing away at Manchester City, one can never count Jamie Vardy out. He could very easily nick a goal.
