Daniel Farke Hoping to Upset Liverpool

Opening Day Form

Liverpool have an impressive record on the opening day of the season. They are unbeaten in their last five, winning four and drawing just one. Last season saw them thump West Ham 4-0 at home, thanks to two goals from Sadio Mane.

In contrast, Daniel Farke will be hoping to improve Norwich’s opening day record. They have won just one of their last five on the opening day, a 4-1 win away at Blackburn Rovers in the 2016/17 season.

Team News

It will be a case of start as you mean to go on for Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool. With just one senior arrival at Anfield this summer – that being second choice goalkeeper Adrian – they will be hoping to maintain the consistency that saw them lose just one game in the Premier League last season.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, the Liverpool manager confirmed that Sadio Mane will feature in their first game of the season. He said: “Yes. He had only two weeks off, so he didn’t lose a lot and that it is the good news.”

Norwich meanwhile will be missing a number of players for the Anfield clash. They will be without centre-back Timm Klose, as well as Christoph Zimmerman and Alexander Tettey on Merseyside.

Liverpool v Norwich Predictions

Norwich under Daniel Farke will prove a tougher test than expected for Liverpool as they open the Premier League season. However, Jurgen Klopp’s side should have enough to overcome the battling Canaries.
