Quickfire Goals As Swans Tame Tigers

Hull had led after just three minutes through Daniel Batty. Polish international Kamil Grosicki provided the all-important delivery before Batty flicked it over the line to net his first EFL career goal.

Swansea fought back though and Borja netted his first goal in almost three years to level the scores.

The Spaniard netted just his second goal for the Swans with an instinctive header from Nathan Dyer‘s deflected cross.

Moments later Swansea were ahead. Jake Bidwell‘s cross rebounded off the crossbar to Dyer whose delivery was headed home by Van der Hoorn at the near post.

Hull had opportunities to level late on, but Jackson Irvine headed over and Kevin Stewart dragged wide.

Steve Cooper ‘Delighted’ With Winning Start

Steve Cooper claimed three points in his first game in club football thanks to two goals in two minutes.

The former England Under-17 coach watched as his side produced an impressive revival to beat Hull City.

“I’m delighted to get the three points and we were good for it in the end.” he said to BBC Sport Wales.

“Going 1-0 down at home is never an easy scenario, especially in the first game of the season. But I thought the fans were brilliant after that goal.

“We controlled all of the game but we didn’t play to the levels we want to play to in the first half – we could have been a lot firmer with our attacking play.

“That was the message at half-time – we are doing okay, but let’s show we are better than that. The players got back to the levels in the second half.”
