European Transfer Rumours
Griezmann Saga Continues
There continues to be a never-ending supply of new Antoine Griezmann transfer rumours. Today’s edition of MARCA is reporting that Barcelona has started contacting banks to find the money they need to pay Griezmann’s release clause. This came after Barcelona CEO Oscar Grau tried and to negotiate with Atletico Madrid once again.
And after contacting the banks as Marca reported, Barcelona are now set to pay the clause on Friday. Mundo Deportivo first reported that Barca would pay the clause on Friday. The clause is set at €120 million and will make Griezmann the fifth-most expensive transfer in history.
The idea is to get him into the club and wipe away the damage he did in the eyes of Barca fans with that lovely decision documentary last summer. MARCA wrote this morning that Barcelona doesn’t want to present Griezmann in front of the Camp Nou. They want to take time to assimilate Griezmann before displaying his talents in the Joan Gamper trophy.
De Ligt Transfer Rumours
It looks like Matthijs de Ligt’s transfer to Juventus might finally be completed this weekend. But contrary to some reports that deal will not include Moise Kean. Ajax had been keen to add the young Italian attacker in exchange for de Ligt. But according to Fabrizio Romano, Kean will not be leaving Juventus this summer.
But what that does mean is Juventus will have to pay a hefty fee to complete the De Ligt signing. One of those moves might be selling veteran German midfielder Sami Khedira. The 31-year-old had a rough season and Juventus wish to move on from his services, as per Calciomercato.
