Mousa Dembele out of Tottenham’s Post-Season Tour

Following the conclusion of Tottenham’s Premier League campaign at Hull on Sunday, Mousa Dembele will be left at home when Spurs travel to Hong Kong on Friday. Mauricio Pochettino’s side will play Kitchee SC on Friday during a promotional post-season tour.

Foot operation

Similar to Danny Rose and Erik Lamela, Dembele has been bothered by a persistent injury. Although not as severe, a statement by Tottenham says that he will undergo a “procedure.”

“Mousa Dembele will this week undergo a planned procedure to resolve a persistent problem with his left foot. The Belgium international will be unable to travel to Hong Kong for our fixture against Kitchee SC as a result, and is expected to return for pre-season.”

Dembele has been able to play limited minutes despite his injury, but has only started once in Tottenham’s last five. Perhaps this foot problem is why he struggled to last the full length in most Premier League matches this season. Hopefully for Spurs, after this planned procedure, Dembele will be able to return to full action when Spurs visit the United States in July for their pre-season tour.

Tottenham’s visit to Asia

Despite the fact that Dembele has not travelled, other Spurs stars have. The likes of Hugo Lloris, Dele Alli, Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen have all made the journey east. Danny Rose and Erik Lamela remain out of action. While the former is rumoured to be missing the first few games of next season, Pochettino will hope that Lamela will be available for Tottenham’s pre-season.

Despite burning transfer speculation, Kyle Walker and Moussa Sissoko have also made the trip to Hong Kong. During Tottenham’s promotional visit, Ben Davies, Kevin Wimmer, Kyle Walker and Heung-Min Son will also make a visit to Seoul, South Korea.

Despite the season being over, Spurs still have business to attend to before the players go off for their well-earned summer holidays.
