Latest on Joao Felix, Marouane Fellaini, Ashley Cole and Michy Batshuayi
Liverpool to Pay Big For Felix?
Liverpool have reportedly had a £61 million bid rejected by Benfica for Joao Felix. The 19-year-old wonderkid is wanted by a host of European clubs. However, the Reds appear to be leading the way at present. The Portugal U21 international has been in fine form and is seen as one of the best prospects in Europe.
The youngster has a buyout clause of £105 million. Liverpool’s bid falls way short of that. Jurgen Klopp sees the attacking midfielder as an ideal addition to his title-chasing squad. However, with many clubs interested, Liverpool will need to act fast if they are to submit an improved offer.
Henry Targeting Fellaini
Monaco manager Thierry Henry could be about to sign another Premier League midfielder. Henry has already signed Cesc Fabregas from Chelsea and could now move for Marouane Fellaini. The Belgian international has fallen out of favour since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over at Old Trafford. He was a regular under Jose Mourinho but has played just several minutes under Solskjaer.
Monaco are keen on a loan deal for Fellaini and the midfielder could be tempted. His playing time at Manchester United could be limited as Solskjaer adopts a more attacking style of play. Any deal could have to wait as Fellaini recovers from an injury picked up in training.
Cole and Lampard to Team Up Again?
Former England international Ashley Cole could be about to join Derby County. Frank Lampard is interested in linking up once again with his former Chelsea teammate. Cole, 38, is a free agent having left LA Galaxy in November.
Cole has reportedly agreed a deal worth £15,000 per week at Derby. His signing could be announced at the beginning of next week, should he pass his medical. Cole has not played in England since leaving Chelsea in 2014. He is now set to go straight into the Derby squad for a promotion battle.
Everton Interested in Batshuayi
Everton are reportedly about to launch a £40 million bid for striker Michy Batshuayi. The Chelsea striker is free to leave should the price be right. Batshuayi had a disappointing time on loan at Valencia, a loan deal which was terminated. However, he did have a successful loan spell at Borussia Dortmund last season.
Everton manager Marco Silva wants reinforcements up front. Richarlison has been playing in a forward position with youngster Dominic Calvert-Lewin also coming in. Monaco were believed to be interested in a loan deal; however, the Toffees are interested in a permanent deal.
