Latest on Will Grigg, Bogle, Ahearne-Grant and Bolger

Black Cats Still Chasing Grigg

Sunderland have returned with a new bid for Wigan striker Will Grigg. They recently saw their first bid rejected, but appear to be determined to get their man. The 27-year-old is seen as the player who could fire them back to the Championship. If the Black Cats sign the Northern Ireland international this month it would be a big statement of intent.

Wigan manager Paul Cook has stated that he doesn’t want to lose Grigg. However, with the striker not a regular at present, a deal could be done if the price is right. Grigg is a prolific marksman in League One, scoring 44 goals over two promotion seasons with Wigan.

Bogle to Burnley?

Premier League side Burnley are interested in signing Derby County’s highly-rated defender Jayden Bogle. The 18-year-old right-back has featured in 22 games so far this season. Frank Lampard, however, could be willing to let Bogle leave should the price be right.

Derby would want a sizeable fee for their academy graduate. The Clarets are believed to be willing to pay around £8 million for the youngster. Derby, in the middle of a promotion battle, could decide not to sell this month and sell in the future in the hope his value rises.

Rangers Keen on Charlton Striker

Rangers are reportedly hoping to sign Charlton striker Karlan Grant on a pre-contract agreement. The 21-year-old is seen by Steven Gerrard as a replacement for Alfredo Morelos. Rangers could lose the Colombian in the near future and plans are in place to sign his replacement.

Grant has been at Charlton since the age of 12 and has been capped by England at several levels. This season he has scored 13 goals in League One. Brentford saw a bid of £500,000 rejected earlier this month. The Addicks want to keep their striker until the end of the season, therefore a deal with Rangers would be their preferred option.

Sought-After Defender to Join Lincoln?

League Two leaders Lincoln City look set to beat a host of clubs to sign defender Cian Bolger. The 26-year-old, whose contract at Fleetwood expires at the end of the season, has been linked to several clubs of late. Bolger has been in and out of the Fleetwood team this season. They are keen to cash-in on him instead of losing him for nothing in the summer.

Lincoln hope to complete the signing of the 6’4″ defender this week. Bolger signed for Fleetwood in 2016 and has made over 100 appearances, scoring 13 goals. Lincoln will be hoping the signing of a League One quality defender will help aid their automatic promotion dreams.
