Most remember the transfer saga that took place during the summer. In the last transfer window, Roma had almost secured the signing of Malcom. The Brazilian was expected to take a flight to Rome, with many fans waiting at the airport for his arrival. Just a few hours before he was scheduled to leave, Barcelona submitted a bid and Malcom decided he would rather play for the Spanish champions. Since his arrival with the European giants, things haven’t gone well for him.
Barcelona Forward Malcom Regrets Snubbing Roma
According to Corriere dello Sport, Malcom wants to leave the Blaugrana as early as January. He wants to find any way to get out, on a transfer or even on a loan. The former Bordeaux man reportedly regrets snubbing Roma – his playing time is very limited and he could be on the bench for some time. Barcelona have a squad full of stars and are aiming big; they have no time to invest in young players. The club needs their very best, regardless of their age, as they are expected to win many titles.
There is no space for Malcom in Spain and he could possibly be wishing he joined Roma. Although things aren’t going as planned in the Italian capital, the winger could have changed that. If he joined the Rome side, he would be a regular starter, picking up experience while improving his game.
The former Corinthians man has only played 25 minutes in La Liga. His future might not be as bright as everyone assumed it would be. The choice of joining one of the biggest clubs in the world might be what can slow down his career, a wiser move would be to join a smaller club and get more playing time. Reports have claimed that there is no chance Malcom will join Roma as the club are still angered with the player and his agent. A departure for the 21-year-old can get himself back on track, with the possibility of Roma ruled out.
